Markhamia lutea (Benth.) K.Schum. (code: MARKLUTE)
Nile tulip tree (en)
- Family: Bignoniaceae
- Wikipedia: LINK
- Morphology: Leaves opposite, simple in youngest seedlings, imparipinnate after ~tenth leaf (with three leaflets, then five, then seven). Stipules large, appearing interpetiolar. Margin serrate (in seedlings).
- Determination notes: Thanks to Nobby Cordeiro and Henry Ndangalasi for the determination of Fairtree seedlings, 2021-11-16. The seedlings in Kenya seem to have leaflets that are less rounded at the base and more acute. But iNat has only M. lutea in Kenya, so I've added the KE photos to MARKLUTE.
